DESCRIPTION: Recipe for basic pie pastry


  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup water
Mix flour and salt. Cut in shortening. Add water, a spoonful at a time. Knead until pastry forms a ball and leaves sides of bowl.
